The short SHi implants turn out to be a good option for those treatments in areas with little bone height and very useful for splinted structures, in partial or whole fixed prostheses.  

In case of little bone height and due to the anatomy of the jaw and the jaw bone, the professional must opt for special techniques such as sinus elevation, bone distraction, bone grafting or dental mobilization so as to count with at least 10 mm of bone for the placement of conventional implants. 

These surgical procedures are, in many occasions a setback for both the operator and the patient, and the placement of shorter implants turn out to be a simpler and less expensive proven option.
